I've been looking for pcis of what both the front and rear grill should look like in my S2...Right now the front grill is open, but it looks like there should be something in there. The rear grill looks like it's been made out of some kinda screen material, not cut properly...just kinda nasty looking. What should it look like? What should it be made of?

For the rear grilles, you could use expanded steel or aluminum, kind of like the stuff the kids use on hondas. Not sure what it was originally though.

Front vent keeps the chickens out (its a coupe, and not a chicken coupe)but lets in various small bits of debris though. I find my Ropa has great ventilation (just as well) with the grill at the front supplying the air to the cabin. BUT it seems to vacuume up lots of little bits of organic matter off the road (leaves, seeds etc) that then get propelled at the occupants through the fresh air vents. I think I need to install some mosquito screen somewhere in the system.

Thanks guys....I'll have to look around for something similar to that stuff.
Someone made a 'nice' iron fan design grill for the front of mine...dang thing is heavy! It wasn't installed when I got it, and it won't be.

Seems like you could put a foam filter somewhere between the front plenum and the vent to keep the leaves out of your face.

Just some fiberglass window screen works fine. Foam would block the flow too much, methinks.

That's what I was thinking too. Not that it really concerns me - its just another Europa idiosyncrasy that you just don't find on other cars. The Hover Effect.

Rob.

Ya oughta 'xperience it in an Elan... the "vents" are the size of a US quarter. Not much air flow, but if any FOD gets in there the VELOCITY can be a shock. smirk
