 LP, I can't recall where that first photo was taken!? But the "buckle position" is a give-away.  Nice "after" indeed.

Car is a 1966 vintage, I reckon, and my suspicion as to the identity of the mechanic, based on build and evidence of facial hair, was confirmed a few posts later.

Yeah, that was before the days of the leather covered buckle, so all techs pretty much turned the belt sideways like Doc did.

LP, I can't recall where that first photo was taken!? It was taken in JK's garage, about 7 hours after I drove back from the purchase in NJ. I can still see the shocked look on his face when he saw it in the drive. After I let him drive it, and he scared the heck out of me, you guys then proceeded to take it apart, lol. Thus the pic.
