If he couldn't match it with the DuPont #'s then you may have to pick something off his paint chips that is "close" or find another supplier that can cross more numbers in his system.

anybody got the paint mix codes for vermillion? my paint guy couldnt come up with anything with the BLV, Dupont numbers, etc..... zimmy From an earlier thread... "For those interested, that's BMC / BLVC 118, Gipgloss 32781, ICI FC57 / GE 40, PPG Ditzler 60932, Dupont 45471 and Glasso 9732R." Hopefully one of those yeilds results! Just redid a trunk lid mixed from the codes above - VERY good match. -D

Sorry Zimmy, use one of his chips or find another supplier.

How could the Dupont number not be a hit. Gesh, that's the major paint house. I question your suppliers ability.

True... maybe find out what paint system he uses, contact them and see if they can give you an equivalency? (Or have him get off his duff and do the same?)

im kinda confused too.... hes been in business as long as i can remember, and comes highly recommended... the primer i picked up is Kirker brand, ...in business since 1893 or so... should be good stuff....blood red im almost ready for it one quick tip..... when bondoing.. keep the red glazing tube far away from the red hardener tube... glazing WILL NOT work as hardener! doh! ............zimmmy

It may also be a matter of the duPont code not working in the type of paint you are wanting to spray. Check and see if he can cross it into another paint system (like base/clear)

I actually had the same problem - was PPC paint codes I was giving him and they wouldn't work with my guy's software - may be another quaint Canadianism. I looked here http://www.mgfcar.de/vin/mgfcolours.htmbut I didn't see Vermillion - but, my guy's software took the OEW code NNX - go figure
