So, we have a guy from SoCal and another from Bama discussing installing their heater boxes - can I clarify, just how sympathetic should the rest of us be? But if I am not kept at a perfect 68-72f, I will freeze or wilt. The temp must be puuuuurfect, and it must be perfect noooooooow. </whine> I figure I will just secure the VB-sourced plastic "repro" hose with zip ties through those three holes.

Sorry guys, my bad.
There is no part there on the later cars. I saw on a 77 in the junk yard the remnants of the inlet hose. It was plastic, and had a molded end in the form of a sort of scoop and it appeared to be ribbed in a way that suggested that it should be pushed through the grill apron so that it was retained by the ribs. Perhaps this is how it was in 1969?

hehehe...but I need some of those wiring harness clamps in the photo - the ones along the top edge of the grille opening. I'll keep an eye out for them on my next trip to the boneyard.

No clue Tony, Guess I would go with 58Custom what ever his name is. I added my name to my sig. The handles, 58custom and Tom Custom, are used on many different forums and they help me reference posts. I'm into a lot of stuff. OK. I'll get one tomorrow. I just got my heater motor today and put it all together. I just shoved the replacement hose through the inner apron and it is held in place nicely by tension.
So now I know that my fan switch is broke. Figures.
