Yes, Tony. I will go I-40 to Nashville, Then I-24 to Route 146 going to cape Girardi, then smaller roads to lake Osage. At least that is the tenative plan. I got one of them Magellan GPS systems that my brother gave me and it might come in handy then.

I drive that route from time to time - good roads...were we farther north, I'd be taking the same route.

Kim, and anyone else traveling this way:

Be sure to let me know when you're coming through, and I'll meet you for coffee/lunch/dinner/whatever.

Clarksville is just NW of Nashville, on I-24.

Mickey

Mick - they can either run the interstate up through you or cut across to Paris...best way is to run up to Paducah & then across to the Cape...either way, they're near you.

Down here in Johannesburg

No, I won't be traveling to MO for the "the longest distance trophy". Love to have had the money to have done that, must win the Lotto soon. Our club's 50th anniversary trip is a round 2500K or just under 1600 miles.

I did a longest distance trip once before to the US. The Canadian group "The Guess Who" had a reunion concert in Chicago in 2001. So I flew to New York, got a train to Chicago saw the concert, train back to New York and flew home all in 10 days.

Yep I-80 right thru Lincoln NE and Cheyenne WO..

depending on many thing unforeseeable, the rough plan is to be to Laramie on Monday June 23rd, and Lincoln Ne or vicniity on Tuesday the 24th...so passing thru Cheyenne on the Morning of the 24th would be a good place to meet up!

All:

Please use this thread if you are caravaning to any Sprite events in 2008 and would like to meet up with other Spridget drivers along the way, to drive as a group.

Thanks Nial.

I'll be heading toward St. Louis OR Jefferson City, then from there to Osage Beach.
My route is very flexible, so as folks plan to rally at a certain place, I (and others from my club) can meet up... Safety in numbers and all that.
Timing is also flexible, so if a large group is coming through, I'd like to join and tag along.

Also, if there others making a multi-day trip that Springfield (IL) is on their route, and needs a garage, a bed, or a bloody good cup of tea; all are welcome.

Actually i would prefer that this NOT become a general forum for caravaning to any and all spridget events this year... its hard enough trying to figure out just ONE route to ONE event, let alone any and all to each and every.... ..

THANX

And I will only get the "furthest distance award" if my can and I make it all the way! I guess that I should put the engine and dashboard back in!

agree it might make more sense to split them out - likely a little closer to the date

I'll be going to Carlisle.

(And hopefully my BE also)

Turn-out looks to be great - last I saw, 100 cars registered. And I'm sure there will be more as we get closer and people get their cars ready (I'm not registered yet - waiting to get back on the road 1st)
