While certainly not the LAST chance, if you haven't started planning your trip by now, you probably aren't going, ...but..

The caravan .. TWO WHOLE CARS LONG.... .leaves Seattle and Portland on June 21 st. The route is 1-5 from Seattle to I-80 in Portland, headed to Elko Nevada, then I-80 to Lincoln Nebraska, then a turn south down I-29 to Kansas City where we'll pick up I-70 and on into the Inn....

The return trip will take up back the way we came to i-29, then North to Rapid City, where we turn right on I-90 for a shot right into Seattle, with a likely side trip to see Mt. Rushmore, and Crazy Horse monument, then down I-5 back to Portland. ....

This makes the trip a grand tour, not just a shot out and back and evens up the distances for those driving from both major metropolitan areas..

The plan is to average 50 mph, by driving near 60 mph, doing 5 eight hour days of driving each way at about 400 miles per day. Some days longer, some shorter, as condition, conditions, and mechanical vagaries occur.

En route mechanical assistance offers should give PHONE NUMBERS. We'll have cell phones and AAA with 100 miles of free towing as well as credit cards, but nothing helps like someone who knows the cars and has PARTS!

Anyone wishing to join up along the way or willing to offer physical or moral support in the form of tools, parts, room, or board, or just wishing to eye the caravan as it goes past, this is the time to make your wishes or offers known...

FOUR WEEKS 'TIL DEPARTURE!

hoping to see ya there or along the way!

Bill,
I'm still pondering my route, but I'll likely start Friday noon or Saturday morning (temp at Donner summit depending)and overnight at Kate's for brake work. Then on to (?? something south of 80) and on to MO.

I'll be leaving NJ on the 24th going out the PA Turnpike to I-70. I hope to make Columbus, OH the first night then Osage Beach by beer thirty Wednesday night.
I have 1/2 of the stuff for the goody bags and the tee shirts
to bring with me.
If anybody wants to hook up along the way, please do.
We will be towing the 67 because we need a truck for all the luggage and *stuff* for the event. My son and I will be driving the 58 & 59 Sprites since they both have 5 speeds.

I am going to be towing my midget. I live 6 miles south of I40 on I26, I40 west to Nashville to I24, then smaller roads to MO. Leaving out early on the 25th, hopefully getting to the Inn by dark.

All,
For those coming from the East, North East and South East, I trust most will be avoiding the St. Louis Metro area, would you mind posting which routes you'll be taking on the Western side of STL and which day you'll you'll be there please?
I'm trying to figure a route avoiding interstates in MO.
I really want to hook up with anyone around that area, join an existing caravan and stuff.

Dodging St. Louis with a passion....cutting across 'blue highways' from Memphis.

Tomorrow is the first of June (wedding anniversary) and I am also thinking only 25 days till the big meet up in MO. I was just thinking. I don't know how many people will be there and I am sure I will not recognize many of the BCF people when I get there. It would be nice for everyone who is going to show a picture of their car and of themselves so that we might spot each other more easily in the crowd. Also maybe we could get a list of cell phone numbers and PM them to each other so it someone has not made it in near their arrival time we might check on them or go after them if they are not too far away. I will be hauling mine and will be traveling with lots of breakdown parts and tools and I am fairly good at roadside troubleshooting and repairs. I don't know if anyone else is going my route, but it would be nice to travel as a group. if anyone is driving their spridget and had trouble, I could unload mine and haul theirs if need be.

Yeah,....Send your e-mail to the address listed on the page and they'll get it posted for all to see...I sure hope that list gets bigger. It was started about 3 months ago, and what do have, FOUR people...? We can do better.
