Yes, of course you should have - at least that would have given you "some" chance to get a 10 on that leg (and would have tied with Rob - which would have meant a fun sudden death playoff! Oh well, too late now - but remember that next time!

Pride is an emotion which refers to a strong sense of self-respect in finishing Virtual Rally, a refusal to be humiliated during Virtual Rally as well as joy in the accomplishments of oneself or a person, group, nation or object that one identifies with, or to think of one's self as being better than anyone else during completion of Virtual Rally. It is considered one of the seven deadly sins of Virtual Rally. According to the Concise Oxford Dictionary, Proud comes from late Old English prud, probably from Old French prude "brave, valiant" (11th century), from Latin prode "advantageous, profitable", from prodesse "be useful". The sense of "having a high opinion of oneself", not in French, may reflect the Anglo-Saxons' opinion of the Norman knights who called themselves "proud", like the French knights preux>

and that's the truth, whole truth and nothing but the truth...SO THERE!!!

too funny Bibber!

Matt,
I knew i needed you to have some bad luck down the stretch, but I never imagined you would have been hit that hard! I honestly didn't think I was going to catch you. I got VERY lucky.

Aeroken is only behind 36 points with 4 legs, but he's going to have to hurry. There are only 5 more days!

and as if this wasn't enough fun, the wife has been using my daily driver "forcing" me to take the B everywhere for the last week or so. Perfect weather right down here right now \:\)

Looks like Aeroken had a less than perfect 17th leg. He can still win or tie, but it will require perfect legs and one or two lucky events such as a Short cut or a couple of Good Sams to tie. This is one of those situations where any leg that is less than 10 he should bribe I think.

Ohhh, Aeroken in 13 points behind with one leg to go.

I know I got a 12 on a leg (10 + 2 for shortcut)

is the good sam worth 2 also?

Is it possible to get 13 in a single leg?

Hangin' on by a thread,
Rob

If he's 13 behind with one leg to go, then you are safe. The most points possible is 12 if you get lucky and get a shortcut. With only two days to go, I don't see anyone who can thouch you at this point. I think it is safe to declare you:

The Winner!

GAACK - say it isn't so!! I hinged what little hope I had for a tie on...

I knew it was a very outside chance but...

Oh well, now I have one last leg to do my best to solidfy my status as highest ranking loser! \:\)

Not to rub salt in the wound, but on leg 18 (I think) you hit construction crews and only came away with 5 points. That is a time when it might have been worth risking a bribe. Had you done so and been successful, given your other scores, you would have won the rally. Of course if you had scored 10 instead of 9 on one or both of the last two legs you could have tied or even won (if both legs were 10 points)

Well, I'm happy that I finished the race and even happier that it looks like I made it into the top 5. I got hammered by pothole crews but didn't get my plugs fouled and once even got rewarded for being a Good Samaritan. (I hope I'm not saying too much before the race is officially over...)

I tried to do the rally before, but kept forgetting (I'm not much of a game player). This time I set my webbrowser to open BCF whenever I started it and the strategy worked.

Thanks for a great game, Basil. I really enjoyed the rally and the scenery.

Aloha and mahalo. I'm already looking forward to the next!

Congratulations Rob for the win ... that was fun racing you at the end.

Enjoy your gift certificate ... anything in particular you think you might buy with it?

Originally i was thinking of getting something cosmetic, but the rally seems to have taken a toll on the "B". Luckily not until after the finish line.

Got in her yesterday and the clutch had no pressure, once i figure out where it was leaking from, then I can answer that question ;\)
