Just in time for the New Year - the first rally for 2008 is ON! Ladies and Gentlemen- start your engines! This rally is a full 20 legs. It begins in Corpus Christi Texas and ends in the same place! Just to test it out, I played the entire rally (To overcome the one-turn per day limit, I was able to reset my last played date in the database which allowed me to keep playing one leg after another) . Here is how I did (keep in mind I know which route and speed ahead of time):

  • Leg-----Result--------Score
  • 1-----Construction------4
  • 2-----Perfect Leg------10
  • 3-----Flat Tire---------8
  • 4-----Perfect Leg------10
  • 5-----Bad Fuel Pump-----6
  • 6-----Perfect Leg------10
  • 7-----OK Leg------------9
  • 8-----Perfect Leg------10
  • 9-----Got Short Cut----12
  • 10----Perfect Leg------10
  • 11----OK Leg------------9
  • 12----Construction-----(-10) (Lost Bribe)
  • 13----Construction------4
  • 14----Perfect Leg------10
  • 15----Perfect Leg------10
  • 16----Good Samaratin---11
  • 17----Perfect Leg------10
  • 18----OK Leg------------9
  • 19----Construction------5
  • 20----OK Leg------------9

    TOTAL SCORE 156

The prize for this rally is a $100 Gift Certificate for British Parts Northwest! My advice is, take your time figuring the rout distances and which route and speed will get you there as close to the correct time as possible - don't just guess! This is worth $100 folks, so I expect to see some serious competition here!

Good Luck!

Okay, one major bug...

The cut off date for new drivers is January, 2007 (note the year) meaning that no one can join right now.

Just thought I'd mention it... \:G

Interesting that the random orange barrels showed up on 20% of your legs just like programmed.

I can't start until next year, so may be a late effort again. BTW, that $100. gift cert IS NOT a cheesy prize.

Didn't the results page (after you complete a leg) used to have a link to View Standings? Or was I dreaming that?

It's on the main rally page.

Actually, due to a minor programming glitch, depending on how you completed the leg, sometimes that link does not show up right after you finish...but if you go back to the main Rally page (Site Links >> Virtual Rally) the link for standings will be there.
