Wow am I ever happy to find this site! I have owned my 1961 AH 3000 for over 25 years, My father and I used to enjoy various old cars from the late 1920's and up. Dad passed away a number of years ago, about the time I go married and children started arriving... you know the story. One night the lights went out, the wipers stopped working and I knew the wiring was bad, rather than burning it up I parked it in our carriage museum and left it there for about 10 years. 4 years ago my wife Jay and I met a couple while on vacation in the Dom Republic, Got talking about cars and soon realized this was the same fellow I was thinking of trying to locate to do the full ground up restoration on our car. We had traveled a few thousand miles to meet the mechanic I was considering trying to find from the next town. It was meant to be, the car soon found it's way to his shop where he has been working on it for the past few years. We are not rushing as we want everything perfect, but drivable.
As we head into the more appearance phase I expect I will be asking lots of questions. Hope to take the chasses for a drive by mid July 2007.
I like forum websites, here it the one I look after... when it snows. AVLRR Website

Welcome, Andrew - this is the place!

I've always wanted to visit your part of the world. Maybe someday... Any chance of your taking part in Targa Newfoundland once you've finished the 3000?

Mickey

Andrew, welcome - we are glad to have been found! FYI, I spent a few months at Barrington, NS back in the mid 80s when I was in the (US) Air Force. I did an evaluation of the radar system located there. I loved NS, it was like some other world compared to what I was used to. I remember taking pictures of old saw mills and lighthouses and lakes, etc.

Hello Andrew
Welcome to the best LBC forum. If the rest of your Healy looks like the engine, you're in for some kind of a treat when complete.
Lots of info here - don't be afraid to ask questions

Hello Andrew, and greetings from the area of PA between Russ in the Poconos and historic Philadelphia.

It sounds like you are fixing up your Healey right. Keep us posted with photos and updates. You have found the best and most active forum for LBC's.

Enjoy the Ride.

Maybe we should head up that way, Mickey, since we couldn't make Honduras this year!

Would love to sometime - hook up with Targa Newfoundland. You wanna drive or navigate? \:G

Honduras may be back in the works. Waiting to hear from the bishop down there.

I'll let you know.
