Hey all! How do you post pictures from your desk top? I want to share some photos of My wifes 1959 Bugeye project. It is a true barn find. Where is everyone from? Were located in MN. Is this an active forum?

Of course this is active!

I think you need 10 posts before you can upload pictures, but I may be incorrect.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome!

One of the easiest ways to display a picture is to use it as an attachment...you can do that in your next post. You can also go to the "Members Rides" area and upload it.

Welcome aboard. Lots of activity here, sometimes it's even about cars!

Vast amounts of knowledge stored here--from folks who were doing it back in the day, to newer folks (like myself) just learning.

I'm going to have to lean how to search the site for some of the info I need. Like the cockpit surround trim. Anyone know if it's annodized or is it polished? I need to get refinishing it soon. I can't put it back on scratched and dirty looking. Either that or I'm going to cover it with dash vinyl.

Welcome

The trim is polished. We have a good amount of BE owners here who I have benefited from enormously. Or rather my BE (GeeBee) has.

NO! Ten posts is not required. Just go to the forum you want to post in (e.g., Austin Healey or Spridgets) then post a message as normal. Below the text edit window you will notice a series of check boxes. One of the checkboxes says "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file"

Check that and then when you click the continue button you will be presented with the opportunity to upload an "attachment" from your computer. Once you have selected the picture you want, click the continue button again and your post will be added and there will be a link in the header. If people click that link they will see your picture.

IF you want the picture to be visible within the post (without needing to click the attachment link), then you need to use the Image tages like this:
Code:
[image]http://www.yoursever.com/pictures/yourpicture.jpg[/image]

You can either enter the code directly, or click the Image link in the Intant UBB Code section below the text edit window. This will cause a window to pop in in which you enter the ENTIRE URL of the image you want in your post.

IF you don't have your picture on a server already, you can add it as an attachment as previously discussed, then view the attachment and copy the complete URL of the picture as it is on THIS server. THEN, edit your post and add the Image tags with the complete URL as described.

Please note that there is a size limit on images uploaded as attachments. Best to make them no more than 600 pixels wide with file size less than 200k.

Basil

PS: Check the "Knowledge Base" and the FAQ page for more info on how to do stuff here.

Hmmm... GOT IT! True barn find! The P.O. saved the car from a wrecking yard where it sat for 10 years. Then it sat in his pole barn for 10 years.

I'm having trouble with the file size.
My pics are 640X480. The message is saying I can't excced 2000 something.. I'm not a computer guy.. But I'll keep working on it.

This photo shows the repairs to the rockers and QP's. At some time in the cars life the curves were removed with a torch. I made a radius gauge as a guide.

Here's one... I needed to repair both front and rear QP arches as well as the rocker panels. The graceful curves were torched off.

Ok in the first pic, we have a green roller which I must assume is the barn find. Tell us about the nice red one as well.

Man, must be nice to have those body skills.

Shealey, any photos of the engine bay, are you still planning on putting Suzuki motor in it, and if so, what are you planning on using for a transmission?

I did it in my garage. I used to have a collision and resto shop. Sold out about 12 years ago. I'm a multiline insurance claims rep now.

Actually While I was looking for a car to build for my wife I came across that Bugzuki site. Then instead of shopping for a Mini or a Sunbeam, I decided to do a Bugeye. I happened upon a car and the rest you see here.

I paid $ 200.00 for a low milage Swift motor and $ 100.00 for the Samurai transmission. I couldn't buy a 1275 for the cost of the Swift and the transmission together.

I had a friend who put a Ford ZTech in a Bugeye, switch it to Webers and had a crankfire ignition on it.

The intake I'm using is the stock ram horn design. The curves were hooking down. I cut off the flange and flipped the intake over. Just have to have the flange welded back on and I have a stock fuel injection intake.

Is your Samuri transmission a 5-spd? If so, can you post some pics? I wonder if it can be modded to bolt up to a 1275 or 1500.

Yes, it's a 5 speed. The link above to the Bugzuki site has some cool overlay photos of the 948 with trans and the swift with trans. I don't have a real good picture of the transmission but I'll take one when I pull the assmebly out. I think it could work.
