The number is actually stamped into the frame, under the right front lever shock, You may have a lot of grime covering it and it is painted. The VIN plate we are all refeering to is a metal tag attached to the frame rail on the driver side. As for

I put mine in one of those carburetor cleaner solution cans and they cleaned up nicely. A parts cleaner would do the same. Then took a tooth brush to it. I want to think those rods are aluminum and not steel Mark

I've been told that even the standard 3-leg puller that bolts to the studs is apt to distort and ruin the hub. When the time comes, I plan to either build my own replica of the Churchill tool, or ship the axles to someone who has one (probably Herma

Boy, rear diffs are very difficult to fix. Front ones are real easy on these cars, however. Too bad it's not the front one. You sure it's the gasket and not the pinion seal? Been a lotta years since I did one, but it's a drop out third member isn't

Well, Doc, I use the Twin Cam "bible" - Miles Wilkins "Lotus Twin Cam Engine". I'd have thought with your Elans you'd use that too. If you can get a copy, it's worth reading.
