The date has been announced - Friday, October 22, at 10:00am. We'll have more details before long, but I wanted to throw this idea out now and see how many folks respond favorably.
It would be great to have some sort of BCF gathering after the auction. I know that some may want to go to the Chattanooga show, and don't want to interfere with those plans, so anything we do should end in time for folks to get there. Or, we may want to shoot for something on Thursday night before the auction...
If you're interested, have thoughts, etc., send me an email: mjrichaud @ gmail.com.
Let's see what develops...

From Mickey
Fellow BCF’ers:
As you all know, we lost moderator Tony Barnhill a few months ago. It was a huge loss to the BCF and to all lovers of British sports cars, particularly MG’s, which were Tony’s passion. It was a special loss to Janet and me, as we had become very close to Tony and his wife, Jerri.
Most of you know that Tony was quite the collector of all things MG, and he had quite an assortment of them, with the goal of amassing a collection of all models built after WWII. I can tell you firsthand that he was very close to that goal! And not only did he have complete cars, but he also had more than one example of some of them, not to mention all sorts of partial cars and parts for them.
I’m sure that many of you have wondered what the family was going to do with all that. So have they! I have been in conversation with Jerri and their daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Jeff, and it has been decided to sell all Tony’s cars, and his tools and equipment, with the exception of just a few of the cars that held extra special meaning to them. This is going to be a huge undertaking, and I’m doing all I can to help, along with fellow BCF member, Rik.
Which brings me to the point of this announcement: Jerri and Shannon know the special bond that developed between many of you and Tony. Consequently, they would like to offer the members of the BCF the chance to purchase before the “public” sale.
There are more cars, parts, tools, and equipment than I can list here. Instead, if you have a specific request, PM me and I will make a list of who wants/needs what. I will get back to you as soon as I can with an answer as to what is there, its condition, and price. This will be on a first-come/first-serve basis. At this point, it’s not definite when the sale will occur, but before that’s locked in they want to make this offer to the BCF.
Mickey
If you have any question or are interested in any special items, Please PM me (Mickey Richaud).
Also, we are not set up to handle shipping on this stuff, so pickup will be the responsibility of the buyer

As most of you know who have been around long enough, British Car Forum is often more like a big family than just another forum! In December of 2008, we lost an important part of that family with the passing of long-time forum member Dave Russell, of Boise Idaho. Dave, who joined by chance on my birthday in 2002, was one of the more prolific and knowledgeable members at BCF! While he was an Austin Healey owner and usually hung out in that forum, he could often be found helping out with problems in other forums as well. I had the pleasure of meeting Dave in person a few years ago when my wife and I were attending her high school reunion in Twin Falls, ID. A nicer man you could not hope to meet. When he died, after a long illness, it hit many BCF members hard! We took up a collection in Dave's honor and ended up donating $600 to the Humphries Diabetes Center in his name. Another thing we decided to do to remember Dave was to institute an annual "Dave Russell" award to be given to a member who demonstrates the kind of giving attitude that Dave had! Someone who goes above and beyond in either helping fellow members or in fostering the British car hobby in some meaningful way.
This thread is where I will post all winners of the Dave Russell Award!
