Wow, just when you thought you've seen it all.
Not really a true barn find. Most people "in the know" knew that Connie Edwards had these planes. He took them as payment from the production company after filming for the Battle of Britain ended, rather than wait for that "check in the mail.". They have all been sold and are being sent to Europe, if they are not there yet. Happily, the Spitfire is remaining stateside, though. Definitely hoping to get a pic of my Sprite up next to a Spitfire or Hurricane one of these days.

Yeah yeah - I know but still...
One of the guys who volunteers up at Fawn Grove, PA restoring planes went to a garage sale. He peered into the garage, which turned at a 90 degree angle and the back was at a lower level than the front. He thought he saw an airplane tail, so he went into the garage to take a closer look. It turned out it wasn't just an airplane tail...it was a disassembled, but complete, 1947 Aeronca Champ. He is currently negotiating with the owner to purchase it. It may end up being the next project after the Cessna Bobcat's restoration is complete.

Be interesting to know if they're really Spanish build or part of the 100 or so disassembled German airframes delivered which all ended up with the Merlin engines since Germany failed to deliver engines due to their later war situation. Which would make them more German than Spanish construction.
