Hi all,

Looking for an exhaust system and Battery kill switch for my 62 bn7.

Moss is out of the exhaust system and Battery kill switch is inoperable. The BN7 is concour gold so I am trying get as close as I can to original with the Battery switch. I plan to rebuild existing at a later time but need one now.

Thanks

When Moss was oos on their Ansa exhaust, I sourced one from Victoria British. I don't use them for much, as I don't qualify for their pricing discount, but they still came through for the exhaust.

If you're going to rebuild the master cut-out switch anyway, presumably when you have more time, can't you just put both connections (in/out) on the same post for the time being? This would allow use of the car in the meantime__if in fact, a gold standard car gets used ( ;) ); if it's the ignition cut-out that's giving you trouble, just lift that wire off the swith and isolate if from touching the chassis (tape would suffice).

If you're using the battery switch as a theft deterrent, well, then I'd recommend that you install a GPS tracker hidden somewhere inside the car; plenty of options there, though I like these guys: https://www.rmtracking.com/

Thanks! Victoria British is also OOS. For the battery switch, I just do not want to mess with it and get one in.

Ya. Definitely looks like we are out of the exhaust right now. I don't have a delivery date either.
However, on the battery switch we have invested in a reproduction of the original Healey cut-off switch. This product was spear headed by our tech services manager Michael Grant.
You can find the product here as Ill# 21 and next to the line listing is an "info" button leading you to a PDF with all the details and specs about the switch.

Well Shawn, looks like you just sold two (2)!

And no, I'm not just feeling guilty about the VB referral; well, maybe a little... :angel2:

Just to jump in here, we bought one from Moss for our BN7 a couple weeks back and its a great fit. The only thing different is the lucus logo in the center that is not on the re-pop, but theres no real way of noticing unless your in the boot. If anyone wants pics, let me know, we can post....

There are many reasons to not have a Lucas shutoff switch wired up in a functioning manner as they are quite prone to failure.

If you are only concerned about standing for judging I would suggest that you utilize your present switch and make all of the wiring connections, cutting the black/white wire in an inconspicuous place and putting a jumper on the two terminals. I have served on several concours judging teams and you will not be asked to demonstrate that the switch is in fact functional--it need only be there.

If you want to put in a shutoff switch at a later time there are several good alternatives on the market. Hella makes one that is an easy fit. You can also get a kill switch from Pegasus or other racing equipment suppliers which has two circuits that can be used to both disconnect the battery and ground the coil as per original.

I dont know why my posts arent showing up so I will try again. I have an NOS Monza system that I dont need so if anyone is interested contact me. It fits from the early BN4's to the BT7 . Muffler is two in and two out and the tailpipe secton has chrome angled tips.
