TR6 Advice on Wheels for a 72 TR6

Having some work done on my 72 TR6, and in the course of mounting/balancing new tires (on a proper machine for the TR wheels in expert hands ) it appears my wheels, all of them, are out of true beyond acceptable for 40+ years old. I suspect, being over 40 myself, my own wheels aren't very true either

Anyway, I need to make some choices quickly so other work can be completed. VTO wheels were suggested. I kinda wanted to stay stock, but don't want to buy someone elses 40+ year old wheels just to inherit their problem. Having looked at the VTO wheels, they would look nice on my TR6. https://72triumphtr6.wordpress.com/ Suggestions?

thanks

There are several cars out there with the same bolt pattern size you can pick up for a reasonable price. Early Mustangs and Datsun 240/280 Z come to mind quickly. I have several sets of TR6 factory wheels but none of them have been checked for straightness.

Marvin is right as usual, but I will add that many times they have the right bolt pattern but you need to have the right offset, close to zero(back of the wheel where it bolts on is in the middle of the wheel), although I think stock might be +6 or something like that many front wheel drive modern cars like Hondas have much larger offsets than that and won't work. I used Konig Rewinds, which look like minlites, have the right offset, are fairly reasonably priced, but they are only available as a 7" wheel (in a stock 15" or bigger 16" diameter if you want to go low profile) so you will need to go with a wide tire modified look, and may need to grind the front upper outer a-arms so they don't rub (not a big deal, but some don's like messing with such things. There is also a guy on the forum who sells VTO wheels I believe, and people seem quite happy with the wheels and the service, Hap Waldrop I believe.
