I read a press release from Jaguar at the LA Auto show saying that the F type roadster Will be built, but it will be about 3 years till its launched

In the meantime, I guess I'll pick up a series 2 E type roadster & start rebuilding her as an XKR killer, with better looks

I'd like to post a link to a story on that. Can you recommend a good link?

I guess I carry the dissenting opinion.... I think the "F" type is the ugliest thing on four wheels.. I guess those things are wheels.. too much rim and not enough tyre!! They look too big for the car and appear too close together.. besides, the whole thing looks like a giant suppository.

I agree that we all will have our own opinions, and I respect yours as well as others, I appreciate that you respect mine..
I'm one of those people that cannot see spending 20 grand for a car, much less possibly 80 grand for a "techno-whiz-banger" that is more name than anything else..
I still own the first new car I ever bought.. a '70 Datsun 510 station wagon. After over 200K miles I rebuilt everything and repainted the 510.. it looks as good (maybe better) than these new "econo-boxes" on the road today. Less normal maintainance but including original purchase price and the price to re-do everything I have less than $8000 in the Datsun.. seriously cheap dependability. It's now at 316,000 miles and used daily.
Even my XK 120 DHC (which Basil was so kind to post a couple of pictures) hasn't put me over the 10 grand mark yet.. you can't buy a car today with that kind of power and style for that price..

Thats whats great about these forums...differences of opinions...I respect yours especially since it gave me such a laugh..

I think as the car comes to market we will see how the new f type performs...on the road..the track and in the showroom..

I like it but then there is no accounting for taste.

Not many people can claim they bought a XK120DHC for $300 from a salvage yard! $30,000 maybe.

I love the looks of the F type but those mirrors r funky looking, reminds me of a big dog with tiny little ears LOL

I gotta think those mirrors will be show stoppers. I'm not sure I would pay big bucks for an otherwise nice looking car. Those "ears" gotta get incorporated into the whole design. It looks like the designer said "oops I forgot the mirrors. I'll just stick 'em here."
Anybody here the cost of one of these things?

I honestly believe that Jaguar is on a hot streak...Good things seem to be happening as they now have the backing of Fords PAG unit..

I hear that GM is doing a similiar organizational concept utilizing..Cadillac..Alfa Romeo..Corvette and Saab..

Will GM's Group be as successful..I doubt they will be in designing sculture on four wheels..

Jaguars always had great insight on beauty..This car is just an extension of Jaguars abilities to create long lasting beauty..IMHO..Wow!

I agree with you on the Audi (what were they thinking?) But I disagree on the Boxter. I think that's a slick little (overpriced) car.
