What is the best documentaton of rib case rebuild?

Just curious, what usually wears out and needs to be replaced/refurbed? I have a rib case in my Bugeye of unknown condition.

They just documented an A-series transmission rebuild in Practical Classics. three parts July/Aug/Sep. I have July and August which I could scan but no real intention to buy the Sept edition. If someone else has September's (should be still in the newstand) I'd be happy to swap
There is no good step by step rebuild for the ribcase that I have ever seen.
The Haynes is contradictory on some items and is'nt worth squat for the trans.
The green factory shop maual isn't much better. a combination of the two tho...and taking pictures and a lot of notes on dis-assembly you can get by. BUT only if the trans is a virgin or has been done properly by a p.o.
They do not show ball, spring and peg locations and some critical dimensions.
The best I've seen is an Auto Press manual or a Bently manual for exploded views.

Balls, pegs, springs, selective washers, needle bearing/cages, bearings. If it has had hard use or someone tried to bang some gears the shift forks might be done for.

Not looking forward to this, but it has to be done. Until I actually start to pull the eng/trans, I will be looking for a good used trans here in SoCal. I'd rather rebuild a second and have the original complete in case I have problems or have to use it as a guide.
Ball, springs and pegs, yikes! This would be the first internal shifter trans I have worked on and I am dreading it. Toploaders are simple in comparison.

I swapped trannies this spring and I'm thinking of rebuilding the "bad" one this winter (since the one I put in isn't perfect either, I'd like to have a good one on standby). This is way over my head but with a good guide and lots of time, and the fact it's a spare, I'd like to try good winter project.

Mine that I put in.
This one looked really good to me but it "glitches" going into 4th (have to let the rpms drop, then it's fine) and sometimes in other changes. Could be iffy clutch hydraulics (all rebuilt).....
My original one lost 4th altogether, was dry when I got it home from buying it.
