I started removing the clutch master cylinder on the "72 MGB.
Things seem cramped to say the least. The manuals make it sound very straight forward and it looks simple enough. Access sucks.
Do you take the whole mounting box off? There looks like theres a rubber plug on the firewall that may help access but it would be under the dash. Does taking this out help?
Are you suppose to take the line off at the banjo nut or at the hex fitting?
