BN1 Windscreen Formed Rubber

Found a site in the US a couple of years ago that purported to be able to supply formed rubber for the windscreen to shroud that matched the body dip at the shroud/fender connection, never saved the site address, anybody heard of them?

They have quite a few rubber bits. Ask them if it is curved.

If you wish, I can give instructions on how to get a perfect curved fit on the straight seal which is most generally available. It was published in the 7/04 issue of "Austin Healey Magazine" by AHCUSA.

I don't know that company, but you may want to try to contact Don Rould. He had that done a number of years ago and had copies for sale. He was located in Fullerton, CA but I believe he may have relocated to Michigan? He is a long time member of AHCUSA. I have been trying to track him down myself, but have been unsuccessful. good luck

If you look at the original BMC publicity and advertising shots for the 100 they all show the usual "wrinkle" in the seal--you know that I am a dog for authenticity and so I opted to install mine that way.

Nevertheless I'd be interested in that information. Martin McGregor claims that even though his seal is cut from a roll you can get a perfect flat fit if you do not slide the rubber through the frame (as I of course did) but rather push it in little by little thereby creating, I guess, the necessary curve.

I sent an email with attachment. Pushing the seal in rather than sliding is part of it. The other part involves heat stretching & setting just the curved ends.
