As with all of you my life has taken an unexpected turn and I am on literal lockdown.
I had some minor surgery to a nerve in my left elbow this past Tuesday and the Dr's instructions were to refrain from any strenuous activity including driving until my post-op visit which is next Thursday 3/27. I'm not very good at following instructions in general and yet this is a good time to get into the habit of social distancing if not isolation, so I have been 100% at home for the last 6 days and with the exception of being with my wife have only seen a couple of friends in the flesh.
I have a number of friends with whom I share a particular interest and we have set up a google hangout "room" where we can come together--either in a video or audio-only basis depending, on how one sign's in--to discuss our shared interest, and I find it very helpful to have that form of contact.
I regard this forum as another important and valuable personal asset and in addition to the general emails that I get from my friends and contacts I often check in here to see if anyone has posted anything that is being discussed, etc. I know we are to keep things to car-related topics and I certainly don't want this to become a place for discussions about "other issues" but I am hopeful that in our isolation we make full and better use of this asset. It would do me good to read someone's Healey problem of the day or learn about the little task that one of you is working on and is stuck behind, etc. etc. Bottomline, I guess I'm hoping to have more posts to read about and hopefully make contributions upon. My Healey is currently stored a few miles from my home in a rented garage and once I get my driving privileges back I hope to do some projects, etc in part to relieve my boredom. I will do my best to contribute here and hope that others do the same.
On a different noter--is it just me or has it become more difficult to sign onto the forum? I still have a sign-in name and password stored but it used to be that I just cliiked onto the saved icon and I was into the forum. Now it seems I must reenter my name and pw each time in order to sign on. Anyone else experiencing the same or similar difficulty?
