So many great folks here. My fifteenth year on this Forum comes in just a few months. Some sad departures along the way, and like others I'm sorry to learn that Charles Runyon of TRF has passed away. He was actually quite young. We all want the enthusiasts and their memories and efforts to live on. It seems he was a pioneer in many ways, and a creative entrepreneur. Perhaps family or friends will keep the business going for ages more. I regularly order from there even if parts might arrive more quickly from a closer locale.

Let's remember Charles and keep having fun and build our projects. I'm getting back to my TR4A this weekend. This one is two years old and I'm almost finished on a near total restoration, except for the very heavy metal thing ahead of the windshield with the fan stuck on the front.

Happy New Year to all!

(P.S. Let me know when you'd like to discuss politics)

Happy New Year (almost) to you too!

We've agreed not to discuss politics here, and I feel that is a Good Thing.

Right now, it's a whopping 29F outside and dropping. And there isn't any heat where all the Triumphs are stored (2 in the yard, 2 in the shed). So for the moment, I'm staying inside!
(Obviously, I'm a long way from home.)

I know; I was joking. Not only are all the rules and limitations there a good idea, but that kind of dialogue would ruin this, or any, decent forum. Even joking about it can be a problem.

I would like to comment on Charles Runyon. I purchased my first Triumph 40 years ago this year. My parents owned two Triumphs over a 10 year period prior to my ownship. It is funny how when something happens it can make a person reflect back a bit. The more I became familiar with TRF the more impressed I became. There were so many parts and items I ordered that we really nice. It was almost like TRF was my "custom" Triumph parts source for items that were really nice quality and very close to original.

Now that my children have grown and are out of the house, I have been able to reach out further into the Triumph community. I attended my first Triumphest (sp?) this year. One of the highlights was visiting the room were TRF had a large selection of their parts displayed. It was fun going through everything. I ended up buying a front suspension rebuilt kit and a red t-shirt with the Triumph logo. I also had a chance to meet Charles Runyon. I really had no idea what to expect. Charles was extremely gracious to me. Getting a chance to meet Charles Runyon will remain a highlight for me that will last forever. Happy New Year!
