Spark Plugs

I've been using NGK OP6ES on my BJ8 for over 10 years. I changed them out for Champions but I am not sure I like them.
When I looked the NGK up on Amazon, I discovered some are made in Korea, some in Japan. Some say the number 7333, what ever that means. Some are copper, some are other assorted metals. Prices are all over the place.
I need some direction. What is the consensus of the group for a non racing Healey 3000?

Re: spark plugs

Not big Healey but I ran/run NGK BP*ES in Sprite street and race motors for 20 plus years. Never a problem or failure

Re: spark plugs

When my engine was tired, I ran BP5ES in the two cylinders that had fouled on BP6ES; since the rebuild, BP6ES.
I don't use resistor plugs because I have resistor wires and more than one resistance is undesirable.

Re: spark plugs

I've tried NGK BP5ES and BP7ES, but best results were obtained with BP6ES.

Ages ago, I had Champion N12s in there, but once they loaded up from stop-n-go traffic, they won't clean themselves off__Italian tuneup antics notwithstanding. That's never been a problem with NGKs, even when I was sorting out a tri-carb (SU) setup from a 3000 onto my original 100/6 engine.

Re: spark plugs

You said you do not use resistive wires with resistive plugs which is undesirable. I use resistive wire and BP8ES. No R means no resistor, right, lol?

Re: spark plugs

I put Champions in and drove 300 miles and pulled them out to check them and they looked blackish. I cleaned the previously used NKG (for 6 + years) and with the same gap drove 150 miles and they looked perfect (clean without the blackish looking electrodes). The NKGs seem to have a deeper reach than the Champions. Other than that there seems to be no difference. Any thoughts?

Resistance plugs and wires are to reduce static on the radio. If no radio, do I really need them?
In inspecting the plugs that have been in use for probably 20,000+ miles, they looked fine to me. How does one tell if a plug is still serviceable? I am getting a little roughness on acceleration. I plan to replace the plugs without the 'R".
Best to buy at Autozone/Napa type store or Amazon?

Napa only has the resister type. Autozone doesn't have any and would order them if I wanted to wait 2 weeks. I guess I could use the resister type.
