Car ramps for trailer

Team, Bugsy is in tow on the trailer behind us passing through TN on his way to Tampa this afternoon. Discovered the muffler clamp attaching header to exhaust pipe was too low to get him on trailer. A pair of 2 x8 boards got him on the trailer but now need to get him off tomorrow night. Need to either get a set of ramps or possibly raise the end of the ramp on the driveway curb. Ideas please.

Raise the tounge of the trailer as high as you can. You can also look for a gutter into a driveway, put the trailer wheels in that to lower it a bit. Always a bit of a challenge with our little cars

I always used to jack under the receiver as high as I could get it. Tow vehicle wheels almost off the ground. Also added additional boards 2x6x 5 foot at end of the ramps. Race car was very low I cannot rememberexactly but this seemed to work.
Also, all exhaust pipe clamps were turned sideways anyway. If not enough take the clamp off for now.

Landing gear on the trailer is not rated to lift the trailer, load and the hauler.
Too each there own...live and learn.

Note I posted "jack under the receiver" not using the trailer landing post. I did this for about 20 years good hydraulic jack and a 8X8 block. Never a problem

We are stealing Jim's thread, If he jacks up the front it should come off easily.
However, when you have about 1 inch clearance between the ground and the exhaust it is the only way to do it. I was going to run exhaust through the trans tunnel but then I would have lowered the car a little more.
Besides the trailer was free.

Bugsy got home tonight. Tired after 2 days of driving in rain most of the day. Plan in the daylight will be to back up trailer wheels to curb and lower ramp onto driveway. Will hopefully give me the needed clearance to get car off of the trailer by in effect raising the rear of the ramp and decreasing the angle of the ramp. If needed will remove header U bolt. Bugsy got home safely and is parked half a block down the street. Too many cars on street and to dark and tired tonight. A full report tomorrow.

Jim,
Congrats on getting there and lots of good advice so far. I did a combo of backing into my driveway so the ramp had less of an angle and jacked up the tongue. Worked well and I only removed my exhaust once by accident.

Thanks Rut,

Bugsy is now safely tucked away in garage. Survived Monsoon Rains. Have not looked closely to see how much water got in the car. Hardtop does not fit snug but he managed to get here. Now after being away for 9 days to catch up on work, get Haggerty to issue FL Policy. Deal with BMV for a new License Plate. Wonder if driving there with an expired OH Plate will get me a ticket at the BMV. Get Trailer retitled and licensed, Get the Hardtop off at last, and go drive early in the AM. Time to get the Convertible Top Fitted as well. Although rainy season in Tampa is about coming to an end. Next week only 20% shower chance at 4:00 instead of the daily showers. Meterologist who lives next door says yes it will actually happen early to mid October. Rainy season ends except when a Cold Front moves through. Yeah.

PS Unfortunately the Snowbirds will begin to show up on our already overcrowded roads soon.
