Thanks sp53 ,I wasnt sure the date range of points in the variations of distributors.
BTW the Echlin points from Napa had bigger contacts than the Moss unit and a slightly different design with one flat contact and the other with a hole in the center,kind of pancake on a sliced bagel.Appears more substantial,dont know if its better.

Often a large range. For example, a 6-cyl E-Type uses the same points (and condensor and base plate) as the TR3 & TR4. When you think about how a distributor works it is the cam that determines the number of cylinders and the weights that control advance. Not much variation where points are concerned.

And in an emergency, you can always buy a Volkswagen beetle condenser from your FLAPS and wire it up outside the distributor, after removing the defective internal one. Beware of current-production "orange wire" condensers, as they seem to have a higher failure rate than other units. I've had several of these go bad over the past five or ten years.
