Nash Metro?

I have a running, driving Midget project that I've had a hard time finishing.

I want to get a Nash Metropolitan project for a toad. Anyone here have such a beast in or near SoCal?

I'd consider a trade. Thx.

Yes. I realize I'll need to get the 'driveshaft disconnect device'.

The disco device is not specific to any vehicle. It acts like a slip joint and can be connected or disconnected from the driver's seat.

I just found the website: https://torkliftcentral.com/remco-driveshaft-disconnect
Don't know the $$, have a quote coming from them. Looks potentially expensive...

I decided against a trailer or dolly because one of the big reasons for my choice was a light weight toad and I didn't want an extra piece of machinery to worry about on the road.

Spec5 Mark:

Just talked to the driveline people. They do NOT make a device for my car.

Back to square one...

Anyone have an easy tow idea for my Midget? Maybe I should just tow the damm thing and see if anything smokes...

It will smoke! do you have a dolly? or, it isn't too hard to disconnect the drive train.

I know myself, and I will NOT be lying under the car every day or two, bolting and unbolting a U-joint.
I also will not tow a dolly or trailer.

Anyone heard of an oiler system that provides circulation when towing? Somebody
(much smarter than me) MUST be able to invent a way to flat-tow these!

I am presently considering cutting the driveshaft, welding up a 'receiver sleeve' on one side so that
I can retract the shaft with a handle through the floor. A grade 8 bolt would secure the two
parts together when I want to drive.
Seems that would work... for low speed chases anyway.

Per my first post, I have an MG Midget and am looking for a Nash Metropolitan (exact same driveline).

Thank you for the link....though it is depressing to read. There seems to be no other answer for me but to tow a dolly with 'Midge' riding backwards on it (sad face).

Add a boom to the rear of your motor home, then you don't have to worry about pulling it on a dolly.

A tow truck boom, you could also make a little money on the side using it as such.

Yes, just a poor one.

My TR4 preforming "toad" duties. If you continue to read the RV forums you will find towing backwards on a dolly is not recommended.

Yeah, I'd have to be very sure the steering wheel is well lashed down.

I like flat towing, so I may need to get a different toad. I assumed that by '73 they would have a more modern type tranny.
