First, I must say I have found ‘great’ information in these forums that have helped me get through a few projects (latest being replacement of the windscreen weather strip).

I’ve been a TR3 owner since I was 13 years old. My first ’59 TR3A was a gift from my father… He purchased a wrecked TR3 (for a screaming deal) and thought it would be a good way for me to appreciate car ownership. It worked…40 years later it is still in my possession. It took me 4 years to get the car on the road and enjoyed it as a daily driver through high school and a couple years of college. Unfortunately a couple of accidents put it on blocks for 30 years. It is now a periodic restoration project.
New addition to the family: I purchased a '62 TR3A this year thinking it was fully driveable and I could start enjoying weekend drives with my wife. Well, I should have known better having lived a Triumph lifestyle already… It had a cracked crank, shot bearings, worn oil pump and a few other items that needed to be rebuilt. At least the body is in great shape
. I hope to get the engine back in place over the next couple of weeks and have it back on the road in September (fingers crossed).
