TR2/3/3A TR3A featured on Velocity Channel’s “Speed is the New Black”

Just watched a TR-3 resto-mod on Velocity channel done at a body shop in St. Louis. I must say I found Tush’s videos much more informative. The shop workers evidently didn’t check his videos.... they also found that the rear Triumph logo was off center on their racing stripe!

They did drop in a restored Justin supercharger.... wonder where THAT came from?

Just another formulaic hot-rod show. Stick with Chef Tush.

I've learned more from Tush's channel, Elin's channel, and John's TR2 bodywork thread than in all the metal working or restoration books I've ever bought.
Looking to get an early TR2 for a full resto, since the TR2 I had after college was so rusty as to be a total no-go. I can restore any mechanical bit, but the body work has always been voodoo to me. Looking forward to learning a new skill.

I think John started with what most would have considered a basket case. Look how it turned out after untold hours of work.
Better than when it left the Triumph factory.

I called John to buy his TR2 when he first got it, it was so bad he talked me out of it. Glad he did, he did a great job saving that rust bucket. If he figured his pay per hour on the car, he might have got $1 per hour if that much.

Yeah, I kind of laughed when their racing stripe became a problem

Thanks for the kind words....I'm a tinkerer, John is a craftsman...I've learned a lot from him over the past few years. We are fortunate that there are forums like this one, and participants who are willing to share their expertise to the benefit of all.

I've got to get back to the garage!

Cheers

Thanks for the kind words guys, but I am no better than anyone else. I simply made my big mistakes before the internet came in vogue...and I made a bunch over the years!?! I see genius in everyone on our forum and have learned from all of you many times over. Tush, I wish I could figure out how to video as well as you...that’s the future! Soon all the forums will be video using 3d cameras.

As for the Velocity show...my wife and I watched it when it first came out and we laughed like crazy. Watching a crew who are used to buying parts that bolt right on as they are confronted with a hand-built car was very funny to watch! I love watching Gas Monkey, Misfit Garage, and all the other reality mechanic shows these days. Once or twice a season you can pick out a TR3 tucked in the back of the garages. I also know I would never buy a car from any of those guys!! I cringe every time they install suspension parts with impact wrenches. But, that is reality!?!

Oh, the only show I can say I might actually buy a car from is Danny on Kounting Cars. I haven’t caught them doing any no-no’s so far, but then they don’t really show the nut and bolt work on the show. It’s nice to have some gear head shows after all these years...and Tushes are some of the best in my book!!
