Hi all,
My name is Ottibee ……. and I am a Britisholic. I have been on the wagon since 1994 when the company I had intended to retire from closed its doors. With very little job opportunities at the time, just "almost completing" a new home when the builder filed bankruptcy, and a decision to return to college - we were forced to sell our beloved 21,000 mile 1976 TR6 with factory/dealer EVERYTHING that was offered. Prior to the 76 TR6 (which we were going to keep forever), the depth of my addiction ran in waves …. at times having up to 3 cars at once at various stages of restoration (or lack thereof). I'm sure you have all seen the telltale signs; "but honey, that junk TR3A has a rare factory hardtop that is worth its weight in gold" (which I promptly sat in a garaged and never looked at again until I sold it).
My history is ugly; (1) AH Sprite, (1) MG Midget, (2) MGAs, (2) MGBs, (1) TR3, (2) TR3As, (1) TR3B, (1) Spitfire, and (2) TR6s. I'm not proud of my past but my shrink said I shouldn't be afraid to bare my soul if I want a fighting chance to cope with this addiction.
So after a 24 year hiatus, we have purchased a 1974 TR6. While it appeared decent - THE SINS ARE DEEP. I'm hoping this forum can provide some direction with my restoration journey before I yank out what little hair I have left.
Thanks for your support in advance,
