Clutch and brake clevis and pins

So back in 2004 I restored my car.
at that time I replaced the Clevis’s\ And pins of both clutch and brake
today I was doing my annual look and touch of anything that moves and visual inspection
I discovered that there was way to much play in the pins and clevis
so,I disassembled and inspected further
Holy cow guys it was amazing the the wear that had occurred
the pins were worn and lost about a 1/4 of there size .
the clevis and the pedal seemed to not have worn at all based on measurements with a caliper.
new pins are on order.
i started to question I had changed them back in 04
i pulled out my folder and there they were along with the retaining clips
check your cars guys with a going over before driving season gets really going
be safe out there
Parts seem to be made of garbage only slightly harder than peanut nut
i took a file to the side of the pin and it ground away in deep pieces

I wish I could say that what you found was unusual but it's not. It is preferable to have the easily removed part wear so a worn pin is "better than" a worn pedal eye. That said, the next area of wear is usually the holes in the clevis... which becomes egg shaped. As you observed, it's a good idea to check these things periodically.

I brazed up the clevis eye's on my B years ago and case hardened the pins. Not that talented anymore.
