Check out what the Jack Rawles car looked like from the outside going round those corners. There were a lot of 'offs', unfortunately one for the Sebring 3000 MkIIa replica.

Hi Derek,

I noticed the small steering wheel in Jack's car and the close to straight armed steering position he uses. This is the steering position I was originally taught but became less available as a result of the close seating and large steering wheel. I have helped this positioning condition by going to a 15" wheel but could not go smaller without loosing too much leverage and increasing effort (another reason I retain 165R15 tire). I must assume that Jack's tires are not the narrow ones I use and still seems to be able to easily effect directional changes with his small wheel. Do you know what he has done to make his steering obviously more manageable with small wheel and (assumed) wide tires?

Thanks for the video,
Ray(64BJ8P1)

Ray,

These cars run to strict series rules so I don't think anything will have been done to the steering other than ensuring it is all set up and working correctly. The wheels are 5 1/2 inch with Dunlop Racing tyres which, relatively speaking, don't have much grip.

I wonder if the seat lays back enough that he can straighten his arms?
