Yep - that is definitely a car of mixed heritage. Heinz 57? Where'd the windscreen come from!?

Particularly interesting is the seller's last sentence:

The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description or authenticity.

Speaking of Victors, how's yours coming along?

Windscreen looks like one from a TD replica (ala Volkswagen). But not sure.

I've made some progress. Will post an update later with some pictures, but paint's all done. Engine is almost ready to fire up; waiting to place an order for hoses and a few other peripherals. Working on assembling the fenders and running boards to the tub. Pretty tricky lining all that stuff up.

is a Victor kit really worth 12k?

Mine is!

Only about 30 kits and less than a dozen built ones sold. MGB running gear. All the looks of a TF with better performance and great supply of parts available. I'd say Victors are worth it.

That one? Probably not. But it appears to be a pretty good launching pad.

Looks decent except for the windshield. Tom beat me to say something about it. That kills the car.
Marv

One most likely could source a TF (or even a TD) windshield and correct that. Wouldn't be cheap, though...

Windscreen certainly appears to be Dune Buggy. Just a guess.

One would have thought the top of the radiator grille could have been done better than that, but you work with what you've got.

12K seems high for a pile of MGB parts in a fibreglas shell. But somebody has to have it.

Not sure I am a fan of red knockoffs.

But who am I....

I still say this thing is a joke! Black painted grill?? Truck painted hood latches from another era, Dune buggy windshield, turn signals are clearance lights for a truck, red painted knock offs??, and a ton of other stuff, including the interior. If one could buy it for 6 to 7K, and strip all the junk off and start over and I'm sure that would include the chassis and running gear, I wouldn't trust any work done on the car. That TF windshield will be very expensive, the grill, at least a grand etc, etc. The B bumper looks completely out of place. It would be a money pit for sure. And yes, I still say it's downright ugly!

The old adage beauty in the eye of the beholder. Have to agree with you. Local fellow has a series kit car with VW motor. License pate proudly proclaims "MG". If he did the work good for him, he obviously enjoys it. Just galls me some to advertise it as something it isn't.

Speaking from experience with a number of Victors, It saddens me to see what has been done with this one. The Victor was a well designed car and correct pieces were available to make all of the things wrong with this one correct to begin with. I enjoyed my time with mine and never represented them as "real" MGs, but this one seems too far removed from what it is supposed to represent to be called anything other than a mess..
I could use the hood latches on my Model A ford pickup:smile:
