Wheels aren't to my taste either, nor is the dash. De-seaming a Healey, big or small, is always a crap-shoot. You never know how they did it and if it's just plastic filler it'll flex and and crack later. The ad says it was done with lead and once you get used to it not having the stainless strips, it looks pretty good. Should go quite nicely without being overpowered. As Marv says, lots of money spent ... but probably not getting most of it back.

Just because you can does not mean you should.

All I can think of when looking at the 'de-seaming' is what a disaster any future repair would be now that you cannot remove any wings without destroying the car...

I don't care for the "wanna-be-racer" roundels or the dash (hate the wheels) but it is obvious that serious work went into this build.

I do appreciate the period correct motor - if I did a Nasty Boy, this is the motor I would want.

I totally agree--the work seems very nice and the esthetic decisions questionable, but it is someone else's car and with ownership comes license.

Creative license taken with lots of the spelling in the ad too (must've copied/pasted hypereutectic to get that one right...).

If you're spending a lot of money on a car purchase, that the seller knows the difference between brake and break, dual and duel (I mean, are the A-arms battling with each other, maybe bunding? Are Cerrara some kind of Chinese thrift-store shock absorber?) well, it makes a difference.

The ad is a representation of the person(s) that built and/or selling the car; if they don't know what they have...

I don't know, am I too picky? Maybe I'm just cranky because I lost an hour of sleep last night (worse still, is that my wife did too  )

If you're picky, then I am too. Just read (another) article in the new Austin-Healey Magazine about even more reduction of ZDDP in oils (more on that later). In the article, the author refers to Delo 400 as 'diesle' oil; once could be an honest typo, but he did it three times. Credibility down the the exhaust pipes. Of course, the only suitable oil for our cars now is one that his shop just happens to sell. He did say that VR-1, my oil of choice, has surreptitiously reduced ZDDP; anyone know the story on this (I just bought 2 cases).

I'll agree that misspellings and credibility are rather mutually exclusive but not everyone received an education where grammar and spelling (much less handwriting) counted. With the advent of auto-correct (which doesn't recognize when, for example, "break" is used in place of "brake") no one learns to compose and spell anymore--ergo the errors cited. Those who know better are put off by them--me included.
