TR4/4A TR4 Radiator position with Macy's garage Fan

We recently started my TR4 for the first time in 30 years. I installed the upgraded fan from Macy's garage. When I went to put the hood down, the radiator interferes with the stiffening rib on the hood. Obviously from the attached photos, I should have installed the radiator in the more forward holes thus moving the radiator clear of the rib. This would put the radiator very close to the fan. Is this correct, or is there a shorter fan hub that I should have used? ANy input is appreciated

Those (rearward) are the holes mine is mounted with, but mine is the later 'no-neck' radiator so possibly not quite the same (yours is basically a TR3 rad).

There is some adjustment in those upper radiator supports. Is your radiator possibly leaning forward a bit? If the fouling with the bonnet cross piece is slight you might be able to move the top of thread back a bit by adjusting those support rods (mat also require some adjustment or at least moving of the upper hose.

It looks like you may have pretty thick rubber spacers under the radiator. If so you can try using thinner gasket material to drop the radiator down slightly.

I have just taken a look at it, & I think you are correct. It looks like there is quite a bit of adjustment on the supports, and I assume that is why the hose is concertina like. Thanks for the input.

On mine I had to use a TR3 shortened fan extension. Then I had to notch the holes on my Wizard Cooling radiator (same dimensions as stock) to clear the hood support brace. It was a lot of work but got it to work. Now, I just wish I wouldn't have broken one of the fan blades on the yellow fan. It will still cool fine tho so not too worried about it. And being it's plastic it won't throw it out of balance like a metal 4 blade would.
