i recvd my gapless rings from Total Seal today. these were second groove rings. had a little trouble with the first one. then i called Total Seal to see if they had any tricks or instructions. after i got that first one the rest went pretty easy.
i have a couple of pics below to show the ring after they cut it and the rail they send. you put the ring on first and then put the rail on with the gap 180* from the ring. the trick of the process is to squeeze your ring and keep it compressed while you slide the rail on. don't let the ring gap open back up or the rail goes under the ring and you are stuck. Like i said after the first one, it went fine.
happiness is a cleaner table... all pistons are in. tomorrow i will pull the caps back off and plastigauge the rod bearings. hopefully all is well and i can torque them down and move on.
