TR6 Finally finished my custom steering wheel.

It matches the wood on the dash, shift knob, door caps, and switch plinth.
Been working off and on it for more than 2 years. Now waiting for the finish to cure and then remove the temp hub and mount it in the car.

I like the wood! Will look great in your car. I might have to do the same for my 1936 Morris. You can't buy Steering wheels for the car anymore. Odd cone mount.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Of all I did restoring my car this was the most involved part of the project.
I first drew the design for the wheel on my CAD system, Mastercam. I purchased a AAAA grade rifle stock blank to match the veneer on the dash, switch plinth, door caps, and shift knob. Which was the reason for this project to begin with. It would be impossible to give an account of everything I did to make this happen and even if I did it would most likely be impossible to follow. My best advice would be to spend a lot of time thinking this through between steps.

That is really nice Tom, a real one of a kind. If you ever decide to part with the car, I would take the steering wheel off and sell it separate.
