front cross member height from bottom to floor on BJ8

Front end of BJ8 is high. I measure 7 inches from under front cross member to floor. The correct number for the springs were replaced in 2008 from Moss and all front suspension was rebuilt. There is 5 inches from top of 185 tires to fender. Car has been rebuilt from front to back with no modifications to any suspension items. What could be the cause? What should be the height under the front cross member?

Is the engine/transmission etc all in the car and has it been driven round a bit to settle it on the suspension etc ?

My 67 restored in 2012 is 4 3/4” to the floor
My 64 which has less than 30 miles on it since a ground up retoration is 5 1/4” to the floor

take some pics and post them of the front suspension , sounds like something has been put together bass ackwards ?

There might be the possibility that the trunion bushing bolts (at top of swivel pin) and the bottom a-arm bolts were tightened up with the suspension in full droop, then the bushings are keeping the upper and lower A-arms from moving up to normal/average position. Losen the bolts and see if front end drops. If so, tighten bolts according to shop manual instructions.

Good call! It would be nice if that solved the problem.
