TR2/3/3A Removal of Small Mouth Front Apron

I am going to have to remove my radiator for repairs and am in the process of removing the front apron. According to the manual, I have removed the horizonal bolts on each side along with the two on either side at the top. It says to NOT touch the vertical bolts, assuming these hold the seam tight to hold the beads in place. Question:Where is the apron steady stay located? It is the only thing I haven't disconnected. If the vertical bolts that hold the beading in place aren't loosened, will it still come off?

I think you may have done the opposite. The bolts holding the beading must come out. The upper bolts along the bonnet do not need to come out.

The upper brace is held by 2 long bolts with nuts on either side of the upper brace...those 4 bolts must come out. The apron stay brace is dead center under the front of the apron and is held by a slot head screw. Then there are the braces for the crank support that must be disconnected.

Unplug the wiring and the apron should lift out.

You are probably going to have to at least loosen the bolts that come from underside(perhaps the vertical they are referring to) that hold the fender to the tub to gently move/spread the fenders over side to side to make room for the lift. And maybe put some tape on the beading to hold it out of the way.

My experience is that the fender bolts under the hood need to be loosened too in order to spread the fenders away from the apron. This also allows easier manipulation of the beads and avoids paint damage.

I totally agree. You might also consider pop-rivieting the beading right to the wings. It makes assembly and dis-assembly so much easier.
