As a fellow retiree (based on your address), unless you don't mind taking off three or four years of driving pleasure I suggest tackling the smaller things that bug you ie: interior panels, carpets, instruments etc, one at a time until which time the bigger ($$$$) items become intolerable to you. Too many of us have restored our cars to the point of making them almost to good to drive for fear of a rain drop or a speck of dust should compromise the 100 point finish. Perfect cars belong in a museum not in an owners garage.
