    Front Hub Inner Bearing Seal

Does anyone have a good part number for the inner Bearing Seal on the front hubs? From what I understand the same Seal is used on all models. Thanks!

I see the 535-055 part number on Moss but I can't find it outside of Moss. Is there a different number to cross reference?

Here's a screenshot from a spreadsheet provided by a Healey owner (Steve?):

Here's a little trick I use. Go to http://lbcarco.com.They have a part search function. If you put in a Moss part # it will also give you the original BMC part # which can be handy in searching other sites not using Moss #s. It works in reverse, too. If you have a BMC parts manual, you can plug the original part # in the search function and get the Moss #. Quite handy as I've found parts using the original number that don't show up in the Moss Healey catalog. The BMC # for the seal is GHS 103. I found a Rock Auto listing for the front seal here: http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/a...heel+seal,1860 It's a Centric and I have no experience with their stuff so can't tell about quality. While we're in the neighborhood of the wheel bearings, a lot of the old reliable bearings like some Timkens are no longer manufactured in the US. It might be worth checking for some NOS parts made in the US before buying some of the offshore stuff.

I just read the NKK seal from one of my old BN6 front hubs:
    2.062" 2.875" .375"
By observation, this is ID, OD and width of section
You should be able to buy this seal widely.

Not sure why you wouldn't want to buy it from Moss.

I can assure you that the SKF 19264 seal has too small of an OD measurement to fit a BJ8 front hub; I have the skf seal and a new hub in front of me as I am posting this reply.

    Hope this helps,

    John

Thanks John, I'll probably end up ordering the seal from Moss.
