Hi All,
Regarding my AH 100-4 BN1, I am still scratching my head as to why my wipers stopped working.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Presumably your wiper motor is dead. Presumably your fuse has not blown or a whole lot of other things won't work. You are going to have to pull the motor out and check it through. In my case the fuse did blow and I found that the carbon brushes were worn clean away and the commutator was heavily worn away as well. best of luck

Is there a fuse for the wipers? If so, any idea where it is located?
If you don't have a a service and/or owner's manual, you NEED one! They're for sale on ebay & Amazon all the time, both printed originals/reprints and CDs.

There are two (2) glass fuses on the firewall. Sometimes just surface oxidation is enough to cause high resistance and create problems for our electrical systems, so checking, cleaning (small stainless wire toothbrush) and tightening connections will solve or prevent lots of problems.

Owning, or at least happily enjoying, a Healey is a hands on job; if you can't handle it yourself, then you'd better find a competent mechanic you can trust.

Not having had a BN1 I can not advise you where the fuses are, however as a guide, the six cylinder right hand drive cars have the two fuses situated inside the engine compartment on the fire wall and roughly in line with the carbs. You can not mistake them, a whole bunch of wires go to and come from them. Are there any people in your area with Healeys, they may be able to help you.

It should be very simple to locate the problem. First check the fuse, (however if this was the problem then other electrical circuits would not be working). Then get a circuit tester to test for voltage at the wiper motor. If none then work backwards until you find the fault in the circuit. Could be a bad connection somewhere. If there is power to the motor then the motor is the problem.

Get yourself a workshop manual and hunt down (e-bay) a colour version of the wiring diagram as well. Once you get stuck into it , its really not that difficult.

Tom's Import Toys sells these - IMO they are invaluable!

Addendum: Unfortunately they're only for 6 cyl models.
