I am curious how this sounds... I don't have much to compare it to and I've done quite a bit of work on it, so I am wondering where I stand now...

Something is loose. Could be valves. You've also go a miss at idle. That could be carbs or ignition.

I hear maybe 2 things a cut up rocker shaft which you can unbolt and have rebuilt for a few hundred bucks, and the second that is if the rocker shaft rebuild does not fix it=== is a rod bearing. I say that because I hear the dreaded double knock, but the video is short and is a video, so it is difficult to tell if maybe the double knock is coming from the rocker shaft or not. I believe you can also change the oil and take about a pint of the oil to one of those oil analysis places, and they can tell if there is bearing material in the oil. Many years ago I worked for the local county here and the motor pool would always have the oil analyzed

Hey steve. Thanks for the input. I just replaced the rod bearings, they were not in that bad of shape but did take out some knocking sound I was trying to diagnose. The rocker shaft looked pretty good when I inspected it, but might try and pull it this winter for a rebuild. I'm thinking of having the entire head rebuilt. I do not suspect either of these are the ticking sound because they go away completely, usually with a warm engine, sometimes with a cold engine. I think it's just a loose bolt and I'm getting a rattle. My timing was way off (due to the distributor being off one tooth) and was idling with quite a bit of movement. When I would increase the idle, the shake would go away and so would the sound. I have the engine running much better (due to yesterday's wrenching) and the tick is almost inaudible (and at times completely gone). I was thinking it was the engine mounts, but I suspect now it's something internal. Maybe the oil sump? With the smoothness in the engine, I'm less concerned about it and will address it if and when it gets worse because I keep chasing ghosts looking for it. I'm going for a drive today with the wife, I'll have her shoot a video so y'all can hear how it's putting this week.
