The published weight for a complete small block Chevy, with a cast iron intake manifold is 575 lbs. Having shipped many of them, that is a fairly accurate figure, and includes bellhousing, flywheel and clutch. The only Jag figures I could come up with were for a V-12, at 680 lbs.
I did find a reference to the fact that with the removal of all the V-12 ancillaries, the weight savings in the small block conversion for the V-12 was in the neighborhood of 300 lbs.
I don't think that the six was heavier than the V-12, do you?
