TR4/4A trunk seal question

The trunk seal has a higher lip and a lower lip. Does the higher lip face the inside or the outside. Need to know before I glue it in

The link seems to show a seal with both lips around the same size. However I do believe that you are right. High lip inside.

If I understand your question --you are looking at the base of the seal that mounts on the metal rim. What you should be looking at is the direction that the top of the seal leans once it is mounted. That lean should be toward the center of the open trunk.

Questions:

Are you gluing it all the way around the opening or just on either side of the joint at the top?

Are you using "weatherstrip adhesive" or something else?

Good question which I am now trying to resolve. When I dry fitted it up, it took a bit of stretching around to make the joint line up. I've got some really good contact cement but it sets up pretty quickly. By the way, I would assume the joint is at the bottom center so as to not provide a path for leaks (my nemesis, oil and water).
Right now, I'm thinking to brush the glue on to the metal flange around the perimeter. Then glue and join the ends, fit onto the flange bottom center and clamp so they do not move. Then (from here I'm still figuring out) fit the center top and work my way around each way till it's done.
If someone has a better idea, please chimein

The prevailing wisdom is to make the joint at the top, but I can not say it by more than 50%.

I googled "install trunk seal" and the first 3 or 4 hits show the joint at the bottom.
No help from the manual. On the other hand TRF shows joint at top. Triumphexp.com says bottom
I guess if you do a good job, it doesn't matter
Moss tech support goes with the top for aesthetic reasons but either way is OK
