I recently pulled the rear diff from a 75 TR6 due to the dreaded clunk when backing up. I found the rubber mounts to be worn out, the front mounting plate, the big one that retains the input flange and the front mounts, to be cracked in two pieces, and the frame mounted studs, all four, welded and repaired from a past failure. I ordered the poly mounts from Moss, and the front plate from Rimmer Bros, the only one stocking the part, and the usual seals. I am finding that the poly mounts fit loosely to the studs. It is not a snug fit. The rubber mounts had worn out sleeves i'm guessing to fit snugly to the studs. I think something is not correct here. I'm guessing the replacement studs are smaller diameter wise than the originals. I don't think the poly bushings will flex when tightened. I'm not sure I can find sleeves to take up the difference. Any suggestions here?
