What I've been doing all winter

It's been a long winter but I've been working on parts in my basement. Everything that I need to put it back on it's wheels has been restored. Every part has all the lock washers and nylock nuts with it.

The rear ended has been changed to 3.9 and the front and rear brakes upgraded to the later set up.

Now as soon as it starts to warm up I'll be back in the garage working on the body.

Thanks for looking. Ernie IMG_1147.jpgIMG_1149.jpgIMG_1150.jpg

Utah sounds nice but right now I have plenty to do on my own Bugeye. I have a question for you though. I notice in your write up on converting your brakes that the e brake rods were too short. Mine fit just fine. Any idea why they would work on one rear end and not another.

I really don't know what car the rods came from since I had the later brakes on the rear when I got the car. The front was still drums but the rear later drums.

thanks, Ernie

Ernie, looking good. Front installed other than that wayward wishbone bolt I need to get out and refit. New master to refit and then rebuild rear end, did to a 3.9, shocks, and later rear brakes. Hope to be back driving early May. Note to self: getting lake cottage on the market is consuming a Bugsy rebuild time but got to get it sold.

Beautiful, but where's all the oil from the self-lubricating chassis? :wink-new:

Seriously, great job. I wish my suspension components looked that nice!

I'm pretty sure I used the rods that were on my Bugeye originally. It may have to do with what rear backing plates you use -- I used ones off a '74 when I did that first Bugeye. I honestly don't know. I've got a couple sets of rods in my stash now to use on my current Bugeye, don't know if I'll have to lengthen them. Nice that you didn't have to, though it's not that hard to do if needed.

Make sure you use Steering Arms off of your Donor Car not BE Steering Arms. I scratched up one on my nice new wheels learning the hard way.
See my Post titled why you need to order 14" Wheels instead of 13" wheels.

I followed that. I'm good. I used the ones from the later MG. Thanks
