TR2/3/3A H6 Jet assembly leaks after rebuild

I have recently rebuilt my carbs because they were leaking from the jet seals. Now they are leaking from the cork packing that gets trapped by the large conical washer and the large retaining nut (not the jet packings themselves). Has anyone found a fuel resistant rubber O ring for that application? The retaining nut is bottomed out as it should be btw.
Thanks in advance.

There was another thread on this forum giving some options. You might do a search or perhaps someone will chime in. I had the same problem with a recent kit, those seals being too thin. I even left them in oil for a few days, hoping they would swell. No luck so I re-used the old ones without problems but I'm sure viton or something similar is available.

Tom,
Thanks. I tried several searches with no luck. I'll keep at it unless someone chimes in. BTW I soaked mine for the suggested 24 hours.

Check the floats and needles. Sometimes they stick open and the gas will run out of the jets.

My memory seems a bit short here. This might help:

A quick glance shows a "teflon" o-ring in the description of the jet assembly, toward the end of the artice. I didn't go through the text. Doesn't seem as though the size is critical, though and there are many suppliers of viton and teflon o-rings. I might try measuring the old cork one and get something close from the o-ring suppliers on line. If you have a hydraulic hose specialist nearby you might try him also.
Tom
Edit: Here's from my notes, but I haven't used this service.

Any common, ordinary, hardware store variety rubber o-ring will suffice for that job. You need a 1/8" x 1" OD o-ring. That's a "-210" size, BTW. I like to use a softer variety, 70-durometer. I buy those in quantities of 500 from "The O-ring Store, LLC" (www.theoringstore.com). It's their part number B70210. You can buy any number you want from them.

Tom,
Thanks for the information. Great article too. I plan to print a copy for my garage bookshelf.
