TR2/3/3A Adding an auxillary fuse box to TR3

I have added a few new fuses to my TR3 but I used individual mini-blade fuse holders in line with the wires. This has gotten kinda messy, so I'm thinking it would be good to add a small 6 or 8 fuse mini-blade fuse holder and mount it next to the original fuse holder. Has anyone done this? If yes, what fuse holder did you use and how did you wire it in? Thanks!
Regards, Bob

FWIW I went with a 4 fuse holder from a TR6, so it takes the same glass fuses as the original. There actually is a period correct Lucas 4 fuse holder, that I might switch to if I find one cheap.

The holder has separate inputs for each fuse, but in my case I wanted them all to be always hot. So all 4 are daisy chained from the A terminal on the control box.

At the moment, I have fuses for the radiator fan, DC outlet, and my modified brake lighr circuit (which works even with the key off). The 4th fuse will be the power feed to the stereo when I get that installed.

PS there are also automatic reset circuit breakers mounted out of sight behind the firewall, and several added in-line fuses for things like the overdrive.

I ended up using two 6 slot fuse boxes I got from Jegs & a separate fuse box/relay set up for the headlights, that I got from Advanced auto Wire with a new headlight harness.
Though I admit I went overboard. I lost my headlights & tail lights due to a blown fuse & ended up crawling home under a weak flashlight once....

here's a blog entry with a couple pics.
(the headlight fuses are on a board mounted to the inside firewall.)

Thanks for the information and help!! Here is my "current" fuse list/plan:
1) Headlight relay- low beam
2) Headlight relay- high beam
3) After market heater
4) USB port
5) Electric fan relay
6) Hopefully this winter>> Overdrive relay
I might consider tail light fuse based on what you have said
Regards, Bob

I added a second TR3 fuse box because I had it handy. Also relays for horn, electric fan, and relays for both high and low beams. Cheers, Mike

Racetorations sells a steel box that you bolt in behind the hydraulics blanking plate, which fits ahead of the glove box, in case you want to hide all the relays and fuse boxes. Just FYI for all and what I'm doing. Looks great, though!
