Re: Austin Healey 100 engine color

So it is actually newer than mine :-) Mysteries that will never be solved. Perhaps the engine was repainted at some point and primed with the blue?

Re: Austin Healey 100 engine color

It would be neat to know the cars numbers so we can figure out its approximate build date. If you don't want to share the numbers on a public forum you could go to http://www.healeydata.com/ and...

Re: Rarity of Stock 100! :-)

Thanks Bob. I think that panel fit is something that Fourintune really focus on. The care and attention to detail as they worked on the substructure, constantly checking panel fit. For what it is...

Re: Rarity of Stock 100! :-)

There can only be a few hundred left. Seeing how rotten mine was after it had spent 30 years in Essex and then Manchester made me realize how ill equipped these cars were to deal with the UK...

Re: Rarity of Stock 100! :-)

Reid, I was referring to the 1500 right hand drive 100's that were believed to have been made. I don't think anyone knows for sure how many were RHD, but this is the number I have seen in the past. ...

Re: Rarity of Stock 100! :-)

My original steel bonnet was one of the steel panels that had not been really damaged by rust. I never had any doubt that it would be re-used.

    Rarity of Stock 100! :-)

So I went to test drive my BN1 at Fourintune as they completed the restoration. My car is basically stock except for a BN2 box put in back in the 60's. There are three 100's at the shop right now. ...

    Re: Spot the Errors

To be fair, it is clear that this is not a Factory M. Particularly in the last paragraphs. Looking on E bay there are a surprisingly good number of 100's in various stages of M-ness for sale. I...

Re: sooooooooo , how much will it go for ??

I found following the auction deeply satisfying in a somewhat selfish way. My 100 is days away from coming home from a full restoration at Fourintune Garages in WI. Over the last year or so, I have...

    Re: 100 X Brace Color?

Thanks for the input, we drifted away from the main topic a bit :chuncky: Pretty clear to me that for the 100, the X brace is body color except for some very specific exceptions.

After a bit more research, what I am hearing is that most of the cars the X brace was body color, but that there are some exceptions, apparently white cars and some others had the X brace hand...

    100 X Brace Color?

I have a question about the X brace that sits behind the grille and in front of the radiator, should that be body color or black? On my car they are body color. It has been suggested that this is...

Re: 100 ID plate inside cockpit

My original plate was in the foot well, and as you can see this is where Fourintune put it back. Michael's car and mine look like they are 2 months apart in production.

    Before and After

October the 25th 1954 is the production date for my RHD UK spec car. It has been long overdue, but almost exactly 63 years from its birth the car is virtually complete at Fourintune. It has taken a...

If these are the original seat covers and they now look as good as this, then I think you did a great service for the car, keeping the originals.
