Re: And I thought the Bugeye was small...

They *DO*. I'm not sure what kind of petroleum-based fuel the V-12 uses, but the V-8 was running on the same kind of fuel that is used for camping stoves with a little oil mixed in for lubrication.

Re: Temp. Probe for 1275 with Bugeye Radiator?

    Kurt,

I've heard that the strips are quite accurate, but I don't have anything other than the combination gauge in my dash to compare against. The strips have segments spaced at 5 degree...

  6. Re: Weber 40DCOE - Does it need a check valve in the fuel supply line?

Thanks for the suggestion, but it seems to me that as far as building up oil pressure first, it really doesn't matter whether the initial turning over is due to the starter or to combustion. Right? ...
  7. Weber 40DCOE - Does it need a check valve in the fuel supply line?

I've noticed that if I pull the starter immediately after turning on the ignition, it takes several tries to get the engine running. However, if I turn on the ignition (and thus the electric fuel...

    Re: Oil cap shorts Ignition???

You don't say whether or not putting the oil filler cap back on (and getting it away from the ignition wires) corrected the problem, but if it did, then I would expect that there was no permanent...

  13. Re: Rear brake backing plate differences: Bugeye vs. later model MG Midget

    Hi Rut,

'Sorry, 'thought you meant that there were two different size hubs. :shame: So, it sounds like what people have done is only to relieve the backing plate, not the hub. That's what I...

  15. Re: Rear brake backing plate differences: Bugeye vs. later model MG Midget

    Hi Kurt,

My experience exactly. I ground off some of the material from the mounting flange on the backing plate (as well as the drums), but I finally put a washer between the axle housing and...
  16. Re: Rear brake backing plate differences: Bugeye vs. later model MG Midget

    Hi Rut,

I was thinking about your suggestion of grinding the excess material off the hub, but then I remembered that it's in (I think) a difficult place to grind. It's the surface pointed to...

  18. Re: Rear brake backing plate differences: Bugeye vs. later model MG Midget

    Hi Trevor and Rut,
