    Re: Louvers

I'll be surprised if the louvers do not help a bit with engine temperatures as I can clearly see heat-distorted air coming out the louvers of my hood on a hot day.

    Re: Louvers

I think we talked about this fairly recently but in any case I distinctly remember a fellow who used to advertise in the classifieds of either "Healey Marque", the AHCA magazine, or "Austin-Healey",...

    Re: Repacking the muffler

    Randy--

There was a Supertrap on my Courier when I bought it. It made the car (MGA engine) sound like the typical fart can-equipped Honda Accord that flat-hatted kids seem to love. I removed it...

    Re: Bleeding Brakes!

Sometimes air bubbles will stick to the wall of a wheel cylinder even after it has been bled, resulting in a soft pedal. Tapping on the cylinder with a wrench, etc. will usually make them come up to...

    Re: Healey racer Leonard Janke

Interesting that different results seem to come up when clicking the "RacingSportsCars" link Rick included in his post versus the one I quoted even though they appear to be identical!

    Re: Healey racer Leonard Janke

If racing gets in one's blood then perhaps it passed along to Leonard's grandson. See this:

I had the seats installed professionally. I did the carpeting and Armacord.

    Re: Healey racer Leonard Janke

If you go to the Racing Sports Cars site you'll see a lot of references to his Can-Am racing in McLaren Elvas and even a Morris-Minor but nothing about Healeys.

    Re: Best Interiors

I got mine from Heritage. The only component that did not seem correct was the transmission cover--not quite round enough but looks okay otherwise.

    Healeys in movie

For those that care about these things in the first few minutes of "All the Money In the World" you will see, among a lot of nice period cars, both a 3000 and a Bugeye. The movie is set in Italy and...
  12. Re: What is available to repair the hardtops for the early 4 seater 100-six and 3000

At least to my eye a Healey's lines are graced by a well-designed hardtop though not all will agree. Conversely

    TFR

The Nical top for my 100 was so thin and flexible it was impossible to install the rear window without first mounting a pair of bars to triangulate the corners. That made the top rigid enough...

Re: 100/6 vs 3000 driving experiences

I must take exception to the firm "No" with a caveat, though I will agree with Rick's statement if the existing paint is compromised and if rust has gotten into the joints.

    I recently had my car...

Re: Moss Motors rear brake "set"

I installed the new shoes and adjusters today--it was the usual PITA getting the springs to stay in place while I levered the shoes over the wheel cylinders and adjusters but all went together okay...

Re: 100/6 vs 3000 driving experiences

Somewhere between your first post and today it sounds like you may have fixed on the 100-6 pictured and abandoned the idea of acquiring a 3000. Congratulations in either case,

    Though it does not...

    Randy--

With the welder weighing 120 pounds, according to these guys that will come to $2,247,193.63 per unit:

Today I installed the new door check I got from Moss.

After first detaching the old check from the door I was able to open it--the door--far enough that I could get at the two screws attaching...

    Ride height

My car has a small but definite list to port--the driver's side--perhaps as a result of doing too much solo driving. I have not measured the amount of lean in terms of the number of degrees but...

    Door check installation

I need to replace the driver's side door check.
